>> Naming your Dwarf <<
The first thing you will need to do when creating your Dwarf, is choose a name. At some point you may also be required to choose a last name (also known as a clan name) or you can opt for an epithet (such as "the Stout" or "the Grim"). Dwarves are a practical race, and as such most Dwarven last names tend to be descriptive of their appearance, skills, physical ability, demeanor or a title of accomplishment.

Clans are groups of Dwarves with a direct bloodline that use the same last name. New clans arise when a member of an existing clan completes an extraordinary task and is granted a unique last name. The offspring of this individual either inherit this new last name or in some cases add the "sson" or "sdottir" suffix to the forefather's first name. Another common naming convention is to add "lings" as a suffix to the clan's last name.

Characters with inappropriate names will not be allowed into the guild. This includes any copyrighted names such as Gimli or Gotrek, try to be original. Dwarven first names range anywhere from traditional names spoken in the Dwarf tongue (following conventional Khazalid spelling), to the names of objects or places such as; "Sledge", "Gem", or "Crag", commonly found in DragonLance Lore.
